Without having too much specific info, I'd say it's as easy as making some business cards, some marketing materials, and start trying to "sell" your services to equipment rental businesses. I feel that the key is to be able to articulate what you can do for them that they can't do for themselves. How will the money they pay you translate into more money for them? If you can demonstrate value added, you'll do great!
