There are some that will tell you that you can buy businesses with no money down - but MOST of them are broke, once they try it. It is not always the case, but the biggest reason most businesses fail in the US is a lack of proper capitalization. You may want to check our Blog on the subject: http://combrokerbusiness.wordpress.com/2012/02/02/no-money-down/

Alternatives are borrowing from friends and family members, or working with a partner that has funds to invest. Some of it depends on the kind of business you want to buy or start; your education, experience and the skills you bring to the venture are key in getting people to believe in you.
