Hello Mike, suggest that you check several businesses before you buy, find something that you just can't live without. You need to love it to be successful at it.
Please check us out if you have limited funds. We are running a recovery special to help folks get started in their new business. When things start to recover the special will have to go away. Check our web site at the address below and call right away if it sounds interesting. Jon at EMS.

Yes. Stay away from California. it's probably the most anti business state in America.

Hi Mike, As a Chicago transplant in San Diego I am confident you won't regret your choice to move. If you are fortunate enough to be able to run your own business one of the great benefits is having the ability choose where to live and work. All the major metropolitan areas are going to have more options; clearly one needs to know what your capabilities are before giving you any advice. Make sure you have enough capital, a business you believe in and choose your business partners like you would a spouse because you are getting married. I am bias, but I think San Diego may be the best place to live and work. All the best. Patrick Lowery Aquisition Network e-mail plowery@acquisitionnet.com

Mr. Johnstone. I have a few businesses available in the California area you might want to consider. What type of business are you looking for? Did you want something with a store front or would an online business be more to your liking? Any type of industry you have experience in? What is your purchase budget and would you need financing or plan to pay in cash? What return on your investment would you expect each year for your investment? I would be happy to assist you and have experience dealing with first time buyers. However, I do require a signed Non Disclosure/Non Compete form before any specific business information and financials are given out. You can contact me at mgoebel9@gmail.com should you like to proceed further.
Kind Regards
Michelle Goebel

Hello Mike,

If you go out and seek funding I may be able to assist.

FUNDING AMOUNTS * (50K - $150K per individual - spouse or partner can double the fund amount - average week processing time 4-12 weeks based on credit report)

NO COLLATERAL REQUIRED - UNSECURED - MINIMUM DOCUMENTATION - NO DOWN PAYMENT

GOOD CREDIT SCORE REQUIRED * (700 or better with minimal inquiries and late pays, a lower score delays processing time)

FUNDING NEEDS TO BE RUN THROUGH A CORPORATION THAT IS 2 YEARS OR OLDER OR ONE WILL HAVE TO BE PURCHASED

MOST RATES RANGE FROM 7% - 10% FOR QUALIFIED CLIENTS. CLIENTS WHO SEEK AMOUNTS LESS THAN $100K MAY SEE RATES FROM 10% - 13%. (Application fees normally $1000 - $1500 - costs substantially less in fees/interest than most Banks or SBA loans)

FLEXIBLE PLANS WITH EASY APPLICATION PROCESS

CASH AVAILABLE FOR ANY USE

Another Alternative:

If you have money in a 401K, IRA or other Pension Accounts you can also use those funds to establish a business legitimately! You DO NOT incur penalties to do this!! A set up fee would be required and you would need to establish a "C' corporation. I minimum of two people must be on payroll and you would have to one of them.

Please let me know how I can further assist in your quest to seek money.

I would contact a business broker in your area that you are looking to relocate to once you arrive. They should be able to recommend what businesses (even if it's not their own listings) that THEY would buy in a similar situation. I know I do that every time I have an out of town buyer looking to do what you're doing to the Los Angeles area. Also be prepared that buying a business is not like buying a sweater or a laptop, so keep in mind it may be a very long time before you find something you like, that fits your life experience, and your budget and financial goals moving forward.

Buy-a- Company

My advice: Get a company that is easy to relocate, so you are not limited to that region, and can easily move if you do not like the area (or the high taxation and rents).

Here are a couple:
