Any suggestions for a good multi-unit retail business? (Any input is appreciated)

I am looking to start a multi-unit (eventually 4+ stores) retail business and am currently doing research to find a good fit. I plan to be an active owner and oversee the whole operation while having employees handle daily operations. I think I want to stay away from a food related business as I hear it is much harder to control operations and theft without the owner constantly there. Any suggestions for a retail business with reasonable start-up costs (less than $200K each) that can potentially net $90K+ per location?

Try a deli and/or diner. It's hard work, but good rewards and fun. Plus in the right area it is an excellent investment that will grow. And you can do this anywhere there are people. We doesn't like to eat great food? Also, know of 2 possible locations in Florida under a different name that may be available together or separate.

Hi. I suggest you look at the auto repair business. I am an Area Developer for Tilden Car Care Franchise and just opened my first location. I think you'll find the industry is growing rapidly, and it fits into what you outlined above. I'll be more than happy to discuss this with you in more details. Hello, I am not sure about the return you expect to earn but you might have good luck buying a Master franchise or Multi-unit franchise. It would sure be a lot less hassle to run than four stores with a ton of employees, but then that might be your excitement. Since no one else has offered a solution to your question you just might just look my way. Good luck, Jon at Edgemaster Mobile Sharpening
