Housed on Main Street in the Facilities consist of two buildings (1,853 square feet total). Main Office (691 Main Street) – 1,320 square feet Owner’s Office (703 Main Street) – 533 square feet The majority of physical assets are office-oriented. The paper made a substantial investment (approx. $30,000) in new computer equipment in July 2012. Hardware includes six 27” iMac computers (with upgraded memory), Mac Mini (acts as server), 3TB Time Capsule (for storage), two iPads (for sales reps), a large-format (11 x 17) HP color laser printer and digital cameras. Software includes six Adobe Creative Suite software packages, four QuarkXPress 9 programs and other necessary software packages for the upgraded systems. Assets also include desks, filing cabinets, chairs, shelves, copier, additional printers, external backup hard drives, small iMac, shredder, tables, refrigerator, microwave, miscellaneous office equipment and supplies. There are 15 outside paper boxes and 70 inside retail racks.
Competition:
No local print competition, radio and TV do little as ad competition.
Growth & Expansion:
The paper has a good handle on local promotions but there is an opportunity for social media marketing. growth. Currently using have Facebook pages, but they have not been a priority, finding a way to capitalize on that marketing can be a provider of growth. Additional attention to promoting web subscriptions should also provide growth, especially to frequent tourist so they can keep up with the local events and news..
Support & Training:
Staff is in place that will not need training, the owner will provide a brief period on site and be available by phone as needed for an additional time.
