The school's curriculum themes have emerged over 18 years from the interests of the children and teachers in each room and skills in every area of development are practiced and enhanced. The teacher guides the child's growing skills by challenging and expanding them with a variety of materials. Under the teacher's guidance the child's physical, social, emotional,intellectual and aesthetic capacities are enriched and heightened. The "morning nursery school" operates between the months of September and June between the hours of 9:00am and noon. The "Toddler" class of children are between the ages of 1.9 and 2.8 years, A "Younger" class of children between 2.9 and 3.8 years and an "Older" class of children between 3.9 and 4.8 years. The enrollment options for "Toddler" are five, three, or two consecutive days. "Younger" class children may attend five or three consecutive days and "Older" class children attend for five days. The school maintains a 1:4 teacher to student ratio in the "Toddler" class and a 1:6/8 ratio in the "Younger" and "Older" classrooms. The school offers a combined junior kindergarten and kindergarten program and parents can choose between half days or full days with extended hours if requested. Whole language development, journal writing, invented spelling, print awareness, computer literacy, creative dramatics, music and art appreciation, imaginative play, block building, physical education, and science programming are integral curriculum components. The self-contained classroom is limited to 12 students. After attending the program a child may enter first grade or kindergarten in their neighborhood school or independent school. Summer camp and full time day care are provided.
