Business Description

This is a long-time business that is and should remain a profitable operation for years to come, with good management/ownership. The Seller is well regarded in the local area and is willing to stay with the business to ensure that local rapport remains. The Owner's son actually developed a rather aggressive marketing/promotional program that has eroded since the son became involved in a new profession that has taken up most of his time. But he (the son) is willing to work with a new Owner to help with re-instituting those promotional efforts. The shop does a wide variety of work, and is a Maryland Auto Inspection site - a real plus for bringing in a lot of work that cannot be deferred when a car is bought or sold, in Maryland. The shop is clean and friendly, making it a good location for bot men and women to feel comfortable, in bringing in their cars.

Detailed Information

Inventory:
Not included in asking price
Employees:
6
Facilities:
Located in a free-standing, 2500-square foot building, the shop consists of 4 bays and a seating area. It sits in a prominent area of a shopping center that has been newly renovated and with retail stores that currently fill the center. Moreover, the shop sits on a road that is one of Baltimore's main thoroughfares, offering extremely good visibility and signage.
Competition:
There are a number of shops in the area. This one is somewhat distant from others and offers exceptional visibility. Some Auto Shops in the area have been closed by developers buying up their properties and replacing it with Retail operations. So, some competition is being reduced, over time.
Growth & Expansion:
The Owner's son was doing a lot of the promotion for the shop, but has gone on to professional schooling. Since then, marketing has been reduced. Someone with that kind of marketing interest could bolster Revenues substantially, according to the son. And he would be willing to offer assistance in showing the new Owner what has worked in the past and how to accomplish such efforts. This is a very nice family with an interest in seeing the business continue and prosper.
Support & Training:
The Seller is extremely willing to train in support of a new Owner. In fact, he is willing to remain employed on a rather expansive, part time position, well after the sale.
Reason for Selling:
Retirement - although it is more like retirement of full time demands.
