Business Description

Timberholm Inn, Stowe, Vermont

This nine room bed and breakfast inn located on Cottage Club Road within the Town of Stowe, Vermont was built in 1949. The 2 story extended lodge style building is recognized by the Stowe Historical Society as one of Stowe's very first ski lodges. It is located just off Route 108, one of the busiest tourist routes in the State of Vermont that leads directly to the resort facilities of Mount Mansfield in one direction and to the quaint Village of Stowe in the other. The location is going from great to amazing considering the Alchemist Brewery (Home of Heady Topper) is opening a visitor center in walking distance on the same street.

Building Sq. Ft.:
The Inn is licensed for 25 lodging and 20 restaurant guests, has 9 bedrooms in total which consist of 7 guest rooms and 2 larger two room suites. The rustic interior of the inn is finished with rich knotty pine; exuding warmth that only comes from natural wood. The first floor houses the commercial kitchen, dining room, a small reception/office area and a large great room with a massive fieldstone fireplace, with plenty of comfortable seating and shelves full of books. The room's large picture windows let in abundant natural light and allow guests to enjoy the mountain views. There is also a room length deck that can be accessed in the living room with outstanding views of the gardens, woods, fields and the Green Mountains beyond. It is a popular spot on sunny days and pleasant evenings and perfect place to settle in with a cup of tea or a bottle of wine after a Stowe adventure. A recreation area is located downstairs and makes for a cozy area to watch TV or play games.
The inn rooms have been simply but attractively decorated and offer air conditioning and internet access, along with some rooms having cable TV and DVD players. The owners have replaced furniture and artwork in many of the rooms trying to evoke the original Vermont ski lodge feel that the Inn had when it was built 67 years ago. New premium mattresses, luxury linens, blankets, towels, pillows, and duvets make going to bed one of the highlights of the day. The +/- 4 acre grounds are lovely with perennial gardens and lawns where guests can recreate and sit; the inn is off the main road and offers a wonderful respite from the busy access roads around Stowe. The hot tub is semi-private and away from common areas and guest rooms offering yet another respite after a day of outdoor activity. A full country breakfast is included with all the rooms in the Inn. One of the unique features of the property is the breakfast food service which as mentioned is served in the large great room/dining room with the full length deck. It is one of the nicest rooms of all the inns that we have been associated with and guests enjoy the opportunity to spend time in this space.
Growth & Expansion:
The innkeeper quarters which were remodeled in 2011 are large, modern and nicer than most and consist of a living room with a stunning stone fireplace, office area, a full eat in modern kitchen with washer/dryer, and 2 bedrooms with beautiful views of the Green Mountains and 3 full baths. It can be described as a warm and cozy space which offers privacy and an opportunity to get away from the main parts of the inn. There is potential for the inn to be reconfigured to incorporate one of the owners quarters bedrooms back into a 10th guest room with private bath, increasing significantly to both the revenue and the NOI of the inn.
