Business Description

This is a well established Jujube farm located in Westmorland, Imperial County. The business is now owned by a couple who imported the Jujube seeds from Taiwan six years ago. The owner started the business from scratch. It took six years for all the jujube trees to mature. There are approximately 1500 jujube trees. Total leased land space is 18 acres. Rent is only $3600/year.
Each tree has its sprinkler. The regular flowering period for jujubes are from August to October. The harvesting period is from December to March. Thus far, they have sold 30,000 to 40,000 pounds of fruit this year. The projected sales volume in weight is 60,000 to 80,000 pounds through March 2016. The selling price is $2.00 to $2.30 per pound. Their clients are local vegetable & fruit wholesalers. All orders are picked up by the wholesale buyers of the jujube fruits. The Buyers pay any delivery fees.
