This is one of the last large family-run landfill and transfer businesses left in Illinois. The total potential volume of permitted waste capacity for this business is over 33 million cu. yds--25 million tons--enough for at least 18 years of revenue from the landfill and unlimited years from the recycling station. Landfill is located approximately 100+ miles from Chicago and about 50 miles from the Quad Cities along a major superhighway and just off of a rail line.
The transfer station, located in Chicago, is included in the offering. It has a major contract with the City of Chicago for construction waste as well as a substantial revenue stream from private waste haulers and recycling contractors. It is also located very near to major highways and is adjacent to a major rail line.
The sale price includes all equipment from trucks, trailors, loaders, scales, drop off boxes, and the sorting and administration buildings and contracts for both the landfill and the transfer station.
The owners would only be interested in a substantial downpayment and could do a lease/buy arrangement. The remaining acquisition could be funded through royalties on waste processed. The total revenue from this business over the lifetime of the landfill could reach $600 Million, with gross margins over 30% and IRR of over 25% as well.
