Business operates from a building on 3.17 acres of land located on the east side of Cincinnati, OH. The land was developed and the building was built 3 years ago.The facility has a small office (big enough for a conference table) with the balance being warehouse space. The business houses all of its equipment and stores it materials on the site. The building and real estate provide plenty of space for the Company’s existing operations as well as space for future expansion. Both the land and building are included as part of the purchase price.
The Company competes in a fragmented industry which makes it difficult to identify competitors by name. Company has created name for itself through referrals focusing on jobs on the East side of Cincinnati generating 100% of its business from referrals. Furthermore, approximately 70% of its landscape design/build customers become part of the Company's recurring revenue stream in successive years. The retention of these customers becoming part of the landscape maintenance segment highlights the level of customer satisfaction and confidence in the Company. The Company has developed a pricing approach for the land design/build segment. A large part of their success is directly related to the current owner's ability to estimate the hours involved in a job. In contrast, pricing in the industry can be dramatically higher and it is not uncommon for companies to markup up plant material 2-3x and include a guarantee. Basically, the guarantee acts like insurance and the cost gets passed along to the customer. The Company sees this as a method to overcharge and is unnecessary if the project is implemented/installed correctly. Support & Training:
As part of the purchase, the current owner is willing to act as a consultant in a customer facing job bid role within the Company. During this time, the owner would introduce existing customers and meet with new customers on design work to assist in creating design. The current owner's role would not include implementation/installation of the project.
